Poker for a Buck!

2 August 2010
So rather than try to grind it out in a penny ring game, I decided to hit the big time! $1.00 + .10 sit and go's. Basically Im risking half my bankroll each time I sit down. A rather massive amount in poker.... obviously massive being pretty relative here to my whopping 2.00 bankroll. Going bust though has a pretty high likelihood even playing in the slums. I decided to hit up the double or nothing tables, at least give myself a decent shot even if the reward is small.

For those of you not terribly familiar, it goes like this; Ten people sit down with $1.10.... 5 people leave with $2.00. The angry poker machine eats up the the other dollar. Somebody somewhere smiles as that same machine spits out those millions of dollars in rake directly into there account, anyway Im getting distracted. So the first three sngs went like this: loss, win, loss. Yah I know, not much detail there. The highlight was probably the second sit and go when I picked up AK, shoved and got beat by AA, then two hands later picked up QQ, shoved and got beat by AK; thus ended SNG number two. Not much luck to get things started. So im down to around $1.20, making the 4th sng a do or die just to get back to big wad of cash I started with..... I'll let you know how that goes very soon.

A Little Background

31 July 2010
So a little about myself. I used to play poker pretty seriously during the peak of the online poker boom. I did allright for myself, but I never made the big time. Now I'm just looking to have a little fun. I recently logged back on to my poker account just to check things out. What I found was the remnants of my poker years, a whopping $2.67 left in my account. Not really sure why I didn't cash out the last couple bucks.... its been a while since I played so I don't really remember. Its hard for me to play "micro" poker after getting used to higher stakes. This time though, its just for fun so I thought Id give it a go.

During my hiatus from poker I finished up college and now work in the world of public accounting (ala Chris Moneymaker), maybe my millions are waiting around the corner? In any case, the new career along with a family will limit my time at the table. It will be a slow, but hopefully tortoise like ascent. Ill start out at the micro stakes with an initial goal of bringing my account all the way to $1000. From there, who knows; the skys the limit. Ill try to continue filling you in as I go... with poker updates, results, and a little more about myself. For now I shall keep my name, and the site on which I play a secret. Maybe at some later date I will reveal my identity and allow you to jump online to check out my progress. Good luck, and hopefully your aces don't get cracked!
